How Bollywood justifies infidelity in the light of comedy?

Infidelity is the act of not being faithful to your spouse by having sexual relationship with someone else.  While emotional infidelity describes relationships that break the boundaries of exclusive relationships but are not sexual or physical.

Bollywood has always stayed true to the values of a male dominated society. The entertainment industry has normalized the fact that it is okay to cheat if it is the men doing it. The comedy genre is conveniently used to hide the same.

Bollywood tries to uphold the superiority of men in the monologue of Kartik Aryan ranting women in the movie – Pyar ka Punchnama 1 and 2. Infidelity whether physical or emotional cannot be declared right on the basis of gender bias or glorify it as well. Why the showbiz industry and the community expects woman to adjust with unfaithful men because the blame of breaking the marriage will be on the females. When men in marriage situation is allowed to take a break and is not considered wrong then why women are tagged as characterless when she tries to do the same by the society.

Bollywood has earned so much money by these men will be men narrative with a comical angle. It is wrong to crack a joke on a serious issue of marital rape in film- Pati Patini and Woh.  Male audiences by seeing all this thinks that they have a license to do whatever they want with the opposite gender without their consent.

It is a sincere request to Bollywood and Indian Cinema stop promoting Sexism, Patriarchy, and Misogyny so casually with the help of humor.  Audiences should say No to such content when the demand of films like Kabir Singh will decrease the makers would stop making such movies in future. This would a step closer to building a society where girls are treated equally and with respect.
