MS Dhoni- the untold story is a Hindi Language, biographical sports drama film. It is written and directed by Neeraj Pandey. This movie was the most awaited one as every citizen sports fan or not always wanted an insight to MS Dhoni’s life.
The narrative of the film is based on the most loved former captain of the Indian Cricket team. I love the calm and composed nature he displays even in the most critical moments in the match. My favorite part was his two love stories. First one was with his girlfriend Priyanka Jha which came to a tragic end and was very painful to watch it on the big screen. The second one was the relationship between Sakshi Rawat who is his present wife.
Now talking about the performances in the movie:
- Sushant Singh Rajput as Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The makers took a wise decision to cast a Bihari to add the authenticity to the title role. Sushant had mastered the famous Helicopter shot along with all the mannerism of the great player of India
- Kaira Advani as Sakshi Mahendra singh Dhoni. Kaira Advani fits just right. She had spent a lot time with Sakshi to observe her closely. Sakshi had even given her real marriage outfit to make the onscreen shadi sequence look truthful to an extent.
- Disha Patani plays the role of Priyanka Jha. It was disheartening to watch Dhoni’s first love that stayed incomplete. It was an emotional moment that made me cry in the theatres.
- Rajesh Sharma as Dhoni’s Coach Banerjee. I enjoyed the Bengali accent Sharma managed to pull off. I also love the funny moments at the fish market with his wife. The dedication towards all the players was tremendous.
