Romance and Intimate affairs are considered a Taboo in the Indian culture. Romance is the favorite genre of Bollywood. Indian films are also adapting with the changing times and trying to be progressive even though there have been cultural barriers even now.
The makers of the film industry have been making a lot of money by inserting love making scenes in the pre pandemic days. The shooting during the Corona Virus is pretty hard with a set of new rules and regulations. Provisions of regular testing, masking up at all times except in the scenes has been made necessary for the safety of the cast and crew. A bio bubble and intimate coordinator is essential to make the actors involved with the scene comfortable with the filming and execution of the intimate moment. The females are usually more cautious with such close proximity scenes onscreen and not the heroes as the eagle eyes of the society are always ready to judge them.
OTT platforms like Netflix, Amazon, Alt Balajii, Zee5 etc. are open to intimacy onscreen because it does not have to go through certain restrictions the television and Bollywood industry have to go through.
In my opinion this fundamentals of consent, comfort, friendship and understanding cannot be applied to the idea of love and love making scenes but also fight sequences, rape scenes and many more. It should not be confined to pre pandemic or post. A basic mannerism should always be maintained in the work culture followed and respected by all the industries.
