Filhall 2 is the sequel to Filhall. The song is composed by Jaani and sung by B Praak. The director of the sequel is also Arvindr Khaira.
The song belongs to the romantic genre with melodious tunes and heart breaking lyrics. Filhall 2 follows Kabir where he has finally decided to pursue his love story with Meher. Even though Meher wants to be with Kabir deep down but she cannot master the confidence to go against her husband. The songs shows how emotionally broken the leads have become. The song again ends in a tragically, the truck hits Kabir when he tries to pick up the lockets Meher throws on the road and he dies on the spot. At the end of the song a black screen comes with the words “Finally the pain ends”.
The song forces us to believe on the romantic theories like True love does not necessarily mean that the lovers get to be with each other.
Let’s talk about the aspects I liked and ones I don’t agree with:
- The set up of the song is beautiful. The costumes are well designed specially the Lengha. While I did not like that Kabir is unfaithful to his wife.
- The lyrics and the emotional appeal of the song still remains the same as the first one but the music video does not show kabir’s wife in the sequel.
- I love how the main characters long for each other in Filhall but do not break their marriage for it. On the other hand in Filhall 2 Kabir gets hit by a truck and dies without once even thinking about his wife, family.
