Sardar Udham Singh is an upcoming Indian Hindi language biography about the freedom fighter Udham Singh known for killing Michael O Dyer. He wanted revenge the Jallianwala Bagh massacre that took place in Amritsar. The film is directed by Shoojit Sircar. The screenplay is written by Ritesh Shah. It features Vicky Kaushal.
The trailer opens with chilling details of Jallianwala Bagh. The narration of the trailer is from a person working for the British people. He is telling the audience about the velour of the Indians and the thirst of revenge of the deadly event at Amritsar is still alive. The trailer makes the intentions of the Indian people clear. The planning and plotting shown in the trailer is making the English people nervous.
On the other hand Udham Singh prepares to land in London with the mindset of killing General Dyer. Singh also tracks the Daily routine of Michael O Dyer and practices his shooting skills to complete the task at hand. The revolutionary Udham singh was a brave soul who wanted the message of freedom to be heard loud and clear by the British authorities.
I like the fact that Soojit Sircar is attempting to bring to the audience a new perspective of Jallianwala Bagh and the story of Udham Singh who wasn’t known to the masses but he deserves to be talked about and remembered for what he did of our motherland.
