Why is the Remix Culture so popular in Bollywood?

There is saying-“Old is Gold.” We should remember that change is the only constant. The coming of remix culture is the matter of demand and supply, the public consumes and demands these remixes, the makers in the industry makes them.

Every song has its own beauty. Remixes often don’t do justice to the original song. Remixes can impact only if the melody of the original song is not spoilt. The remix culture is used as a medium to relive the old memories.

While Bollywood looks at this culture as taking inspiration from the past, the common man perceives it as mere laziness wherein the music composers are not working hard enough or putting in the required efforts to make and develop new songs.

Nowadays there is a fresh trend of partial remix. The chorus of the original song is retained as per liking of the public, while the makers change everything else. By doing this a sense of nostalgia is created in the minds of the audiences. Once they are hooked to the chorus of the song, the listeners end up listening to the entire song.

Though the culture of revamping the song has been around for many years now, a major part of music industry is against this. Remix culture is said to be a shield for those composers who fear failure. It is important to understand the original songs have separate fan base and remix songs cannot match up with the same craze. As a result the masses end up disliking it, it is a sign that we should try to do better.

I believe the remix world is great in its place in order to preserve the evergreen musical past but there should also be an emergence of new songs as the new generation would need these songs to look back at in future.
