Sardar ka grandson trailer review

Sardar ka grandson is directed by Kaashvie Nair. The concept of the movie structural relocation is a good theme to explore but the topic is poorly handled.  The director wanted the audience to get a swades vibes, on a more personal level. The film tries to emotionally grip the viewers by showing Sardar wanting to go to Lahore to visit her old house where Sardar has some romantic memories with her husband.

Now let’s talk about performances in the film:

  • Neena Gupta as Rupindra Kaur (Sardar) is a good choice in the title role considering the outstanding performance in Badhai ho but the makeup department could have done a better job with her aging as it does not feel real.
  • Arjun Kapoor as Amreek Singh is the same old giving the audience a Punjabi vibe in all his movies. He is very weak with expressions as well as the emotional scenes. I tried hard but could not feel any of emotions he was trying to portray in the trailer. I also feel the casting team should have chosen some other actor to justice to the role and not merely promote nepotism.
  •  John Abraham as Gulshar singh is impressive because the dressing sense is apt according to the pre Partition era and John has a strong screen presence to support the character as well.
  • Aditi Rao Hydari as the younger Rupindra Kaur looks elegant.
