Importance of a climax scene in a movie?


A Climax is defined as a most intense, exciting or crucial point of a movie.  It is the amalgamation of all the scenes and sorts the conflict between the characters, giving us a happy or sad ending depending on what the director wants to do with his cinematic project.

The climax is turning point in the narrative where the audiences cannot afford to take a break from the movie. If the viewers miss the twist then they don’t get a closure on the film. There are few films that keep their audience busy with thinking how the movie ended. The masses are open to interpret the culmination of the film.

Let’s discuss some of the movies with an open ending:

  • Andhadhun directed by Shri Ram Raghvan. This movie leaves many questions unanswered as the fans could use their own imagination and depict the ending of the film.
  • Piku was a fantastic film by Soojit Sarkar. The relationship between Amitabh, Irfan and Deepika was very well written and performed by all the three actors. Piku and Rana even though are romantically interested in each other but the film doesn’t show them married and the audience can think about their possibilities as a couple while leaving the theatre.
  • Rockstar a film by Imtiaz Ali. The climax of the scene shows that even though you can be very successful professionally but the personal losses you go through while achieving the success is repairable.
  • Queen was directed by Vikas Bahl. When Rani refuses to marry Vijay. The audience expects her to choose Alexandra as her new life partner but she chooses none of men in order to lead a happy life.
