Though Television, Movies and OTT platforms has a separate set of audience for each medium of entertainment and it has been increasing rapidly for years now. Bollywood industry is considered massive both in size as well as popularity but Television is catching up fast.
Various types of shows are running on television right from Daily Soaps like Yeh Rishta kya Kehlata hai from supernatural shows like the Nagin series. For the success of any show a good director, cast, narrative is needed but the major factor becomes the Chemistry/bond between the main leads be it on Television or the Silver screen.
I would like to discuss my top 9 favorite onscreen pairs on Television:
- Barun Sobti & Sanaya Irani as Arnav & Khushi. This Super hit Jodi of Television from Iss pyar ko kya naam doon is still remembered even today by the viewers. The off-screen bond between the actors plus the brilliant writing had the power to translate it into the beautiful onscreen chemistry that the audience enjoyed.
- Mohsin Khan & Shivangi Joshi as Kartik &Naira Goenka has managed to increase their as well as the show’s fan following since 2016. Kartik Naira scenes together spark a sense of hope to get a husband like Kartik among the female viewers.
- Surbhi Chandna and Nakul Mehta as Shivay & Anika Singh Oberoi. This pair could emote every emotion onscreen be it friendship, love anger just like real husband wife so much so that the audience tend to forget that they are watching a television show.
- Surbhi Chandna and Namit Khanna as Dr Siddhant Mathur and Dr Ishani Arora. This was an experiment pair by makers which proved to be beneficial for Sanjivini show plus the Nostalgia regarding the show worked. The weak script was the reason for it to go off-air in 2020.
- Surbhi Chandana & Sharad Malhotra as Veeranshu Singhania &Bani Sharma Singhania. The Nagin and Cheel couple scored a 10 on 10 on the popularity meter and Nagin 5 went on to be the most popular season. This pairing very fresh and rare no one expected Surbhi and Sharad come together for the show. Sharad and Surbhi went to do a music video with each other owing to the growing name and fame of the duo.
- Mishkat Varma and Aneri Vajani as Kabir kumar/Singh Rathod and Nisha Kumar Singh Rathod. The chemistry between the two characters is little different as it is more about their journey from being strangers, friends, husband wife to lovers at the end of the storyline.
- Paras Arora and Jiya Shankar as Dr Promod Chautala & Shushila Ruhel. Paras and Jiya look cute together in the show and their chemistry is slowly developing and the new show is loved by the masses.
- Rajat and Mughdha as Prithvi & Sanyogita. Both of them was my very first onscreen pair crush as a kid and I still watch the show and the re casted together in the show called DharamVeer.
- Sidharth Nigam and Prerna Sharma as Prince Bindusar and Dharma. The young actors managed to create magic onscreen with their outstanding portrayal of their characters. Prerna should make come back to acting and they should casted once again in a new show.
